This story needs multiple readings before you come to any conclusion on it. Like the ink blot on the cover, the story appears as different things to different people. To me, it appeared as a main character out to prove that some psychologists are just as dirty-minded during an appointment as we are and will sometimes really get off on our stories, however true or untrue they may be. Definitely not a short story to read your kids to sleep, unless you’re one of those psychologists from the story.

To me, the story on the whole read like a long joke story similar to “the aristocrats” with similar graphic language and sexualization of childhood memories that don’t hit as pornographic, just graphic like this guy may actually have a problem oversexualizing things. Honestly, if it became a new “the aristocrats” I would get a good laugh out of seeing the future iterations. Definitely a good read to take a break from the mundanities of life and enter a realm of adult oddity.

A good read that will question yourself trying to figure out whether he gets more satisfaction out of his sessions with the therapist or his actually telling of his sexual exploits! Let’s find out if we get a Session Two!
From the very first sentence I was intrigued. By the end of the story I wanted more. This is exactly what I look for in a short story and The Session delivered. I will never look at the numbers 8 and 9 the same again!
Well done. Quick and uncertain. Delectable imagery using very few words. Takes your for an unexpected ride. Leaves you on the corner waiting for another.
The writer manages to excite, intrigue, and amuse in just a few pages. I am definitely hoping this is an outtake from a full novel to come! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I wanted to keep reading, which is always a good sign with any story. I enjoyed being a sort of fly on the wall of a therapy session, or rather a fly in the patient’s head. But honestly it was a little too dark, twisted, and sexual for me to highly recommend it to the masses. But if dark, twisted, and sexual is your thing - then I would definitely recommend you read The Session.
I found I couldn't stop reading. Felt like a snippet from a larger story about a very interesting character and left me curious. Very artistic and edgy, smart, sexy and made me think of a clock-work orange.. well done.
